Differences between the courses

What is the difference between Engage and The So What Strategy course?
Both courses are built on the Pyramid Principle, the structured thinking methodology developed at McKinsey by Barbara Minto, who personally approved Davina’s teaching in 2009.
The So What Strategy is shorter and focuses on everyday communication, such as emails, short docs, team briefings and presentations. It’s the best entry point and introduces 7 classic storyline patterns you can immediately use for your next communication.
Engage goes deeper into the full complexity of executive-level communication. It’s for people who regularly prepare high-stakes presentations for C-suite leaders and boards, where the political dynamics are more complex and the cost of an unclear message is higher.
If you’re not yet in a senior role, start with The So What Strategy. Engage is the natural next step when you move into a role requiring regular board or C-suite communication.

What is the difference between the Extreme Clarity Workshop and the Board Paper Bootcamp?
The Extreme Clarity Workshop is a 2-hour live introduction to the core structured thinking approach. It is fast, practical, and a great starting point for anyone new to Davina’s approach or wanting a live taster before committing to a longer program.
The Board Paper Bootcamp is a 3-week intensive that goes deeper. It includes personal feedback from Davina on your own communication and is for leaders who need to consistently produce board-ready communication. The workshop is a good starting point; the Bootcamp is for those ready to fully embed the approach.

How is the Board Paper Bootcamp different from other executive communication courses?
The Board Paper Bootcamp is taught by Davina Stanley, who trained in structured thinking at McKinsey in Hong Kong in the mid-1990s and was approved to teach the Pyramid Principle by Barbara Minto in 2009. It’s designed for leaders, finance professionals, company secretaries, and chiefs of staff who need to consistently produce board-ready communication.
For a self-paced alternative, Engage covers executive-level communication, including board presentations, is in depth and can be completed in your own time.

Which program is right for a team?

You are welcome to start with the free Pyramid Principle 101 recording to get a feel for Davina’s approach.
From there, The So What Strategy course is the most accessible paid starting point at $190. If you prefer a live learning environment, the Extreme Clarity Workshop is a great live introduction that runs several times a year at $295.
