The more I ask leaders about why they want to improve the quality of their team's communication, the less it has to do with the communication itself.
On the one hand it has to do with the quality of ideas the team conveys, but when I dig a bit more it has to do with something else entirely.
It has to do with the quality and velocity of decision-making.
Quality is easy enough to grasp, but velocity sometimes gets lost in the mix.
- It's easy to assume it's normal for a leader or their team to iterate and iterate to land their messaging and get a decision.
- It's also easy to think that it's normal for the leader to rework drafts out of hours, when they (you?) have time to think.
